An open edition print is one where there is no limit on the prints availability. These are the most inexpensive way to purchase art as everyone can have a copy.

They are generally printed in high volume on lower quality materials so as to keep the price down.

Artists will often have a catalogue of open edition prints that mean that anyone who wants to buy their work can with the price remaining affordable to all.

However if a print has been released as a Limited Edition it can never be provided as an open edition.

Open Editions may have a signature from the artist but this is likely to be a printed replica and they will not be numbered.
